Well, an Outstanding Greenwich based Secondary School are looking for enthusiastic graduates with strong academics and a passion for education to join as Reading Tutors / Support Workers for the remainder of the academic year.

EdEx have placed over 500 graduates into school-based roles in the last 2 years, who then go onto an array of careers including; Psychologists, Therapists, Primary/Secondary School Teachers, Counsellors, you name it!

Reading Tutor / Support Worker – What will you do day to day?

Helping to lead catch up sessions as directed by the SENCO
Participate in a range of after school activities such as (Sports Club, Debate Mate, Model United Nations, Duke of Edinburgh Award)
Scribe work for students that struggle with the pace of lessons
1:1 and small group work in and out of the classroom
Liaison with teachers to support breaking down barriers to learning
Support in running homework clubs
Supervising and supporting identified children with SEN / Additional Needs in 1:1, group or whole class situations ensuring their safety and access to learning in a purposeful and supportive learning environment
Undertaking learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities to ensure achievement of learning goals
Supporting Sixth Form Students with UCAS PreparationReading Tutor / Support Worker – Ideal Candidate

1st Class or 2:1 Degree and a strong set of A-Levels
A passion for supporting students in Secondary Education
Perfect for aspiring Secondary Teachers (Teacher Training Opportunity in September 2025)
Confident and comfortable leading catch-up sessions in a variety of subjects
Previous experience supporting children; if this is in a school based setting then even better!
This can also include; Tutoring, Babysitting, Summer Camps, Support Work, Voluntary SEN Work and anything else children related!

Reading Tutor / Support Worker
Role starting ASAP – Long Term – Full Time (5 days per week, Monday – Friday)
£105 – £110 per day – paid weekly!
Working School Hours, typically 8:30am – 4:00pm
Located in the Borough of Greenwich
