Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a school near Poole (Lytchett Minster) who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join them ASAP or in January 2025!
The school caters for students between the ages of 7-16 who can not attend school due to medical needs or anxiety. They also cater for young people between the ages of 7-11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom.
Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions to support student progress.
Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional well-being.
Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques as required.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to ongoing assessments and reviews.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with individuals with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people facing challenges.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage challenging behaviours.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of our students and school community.
We are able to consider Teaching Assistants who can start now or in September 2024.
Access to a vehicle as the school is not easily accessed by public transport
This is a temporary role with the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday – 08:15 – 15:30
Tuesday – 08:15 – 16:15
Wednesday 08:15 – 15:00

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
