Role description:

This role is within our CQC registered service supporting an adult with complex learning needs in the community and in their home.

Shift patterns for the role are tailored to support the needs of the client to access activities in the community. The shift patterns consist of mornings, afternoons, and sleep in shifts.

Duties will include:

  • Assist in carrying out individual programmes of care
  • Assist with the day-to-day individual care needs of the service user, including prompting personal care and personal hygiene
  • Assist in providing constructive activities considering the needs of the person
  • To ensure the maintenance of high standards of nutrition, health, safety, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
  • To work in a way that treats everyone equally and fairly, whilst promoting service users rights and dignity at all times
  • To assist service users to plan holidays and support them if needed
  • To support service users in conjunction with the local authority safeguarding policy
  • To support service users in positive risk taking

Person specification:

  • Satisfactory clearance of an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS, formerly CRB)
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness/ understanding of equal opportunities and other peoples behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs
  • Good report writing
  • Good English language skills
  • Demonstrate professionalism
  • Ability to travel effectively to different locations, driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred but not essential
  • Have experience working with adults with complex learning needs
  • Flexibility- You must be willing to work sleep ins and weekends
  • Previous training and experience in a similar role

Training and Development:
At Cedar Hope, we support your training and development. You will start with an initial Induction programme and throughout your probationary period you have face-to-face training and guidance to support you whilst in your new role.
