- Pay – 11.44 per hour ( 20,820 per year for a 35 hour week) 10.30 per hour for under 18s
- Tips paid weekly (Estimated 1,400 per year if working full time), giving total potential earnings of 22,220 per year.

We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic Prep Chef to join our friendly team at our Rick Stein’s Deli in Padstow, Cornwall.

What you’ll be getting up to
- Preparing sandwiches and cooking pasties from 7am each morning
- Preparing salads, quiches, pies and much more for our busy deli counter throughout the day
You may also be required to assist on the shop floor during busier times which will include:
- The warmest welcomes – Working in a customer facing role, on the till, on the shop floor, and on our deli counter
- The best recommendations – we offer a free wine course for all our deli team members
- Knowledge of menu and products – we offer organised team outings to local suppliers for product training.
- The smooth, efficient service – working well in a small, friendly team during busy periods
- Insisting on the highest standards – Maintaining displays, managing stock, and maintaining a high standard of hygiene throughout the business

Our story Rick and Jill Stein started our family run business back in 1975, and today we employ over 600 happy staff. The business has grown from the first flagship seafood restaurant in Padstow to 10 restaurants across the south of England, plus hotel rooms, cookery school, shops and an online shop. Rick and Jill are still heavily involved in the business, as are their three sons Ed, Jack and Charlie.

Good to know…
- Parking – there is plenty of free parking available in Padstow.
- Travel to work – Padstow is on the bus route from Bodmin, Wadebridge and Newquay with regular buses throughout the day.
- You can cycle safely to work from Bodmin and Wadebridge to Padstow along the Camel Trail.
- Uniform – you’ll need smart black shoes and black trousers. We will provide you with a white shirt and apron

Stein’s Deli is stocked ceiling-high with our homemade jams, chutneys, relishes, spice mixes and oils, all made to Rick’s recipes. There are freshly baked goods including pasties, breads & pastries, all handmade and produced by us in Padstow.
