It is important that you have a good understanding of SEMH issues, and other SEN including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, PMLD, and more. For this role, you must have experience working in SEN, but you do not need a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant Qualification (however it is desirable).The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this school, you will primarily be doing 1:1 work with a pupil in KS3 who has Autism and SEMH needs. This includes providing both behaviour and learning support, as the child struggles to engage with education and needs additional help. You will also be assisting the teacher with delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour, which is often challenging due to the nature of the school.The School:This school has received great commendations from Ofsted (‘Good’) in all categories.
