Job Title: Young Person Support Worker
Location: Kent
Salary: £27,285 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, plus participation in the on-call rota)

This role is an incredible opportunity to work directly with young people, including unaccompanied asylum seekers, helping them develop essential life skills and transition successfully into adulthood and independent living.
What You’ll Do
As a Young Person Support Worker, you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering young people to thrive. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting Independence: Guiding young people in managing daily routines, improving independent living skills, and making informed life choices.
Promoting Development: Encouraging positive decisions around education, employment, budgeting, and social relationships.
Care Planning: Collaborating with social services and other professionals to develop tailored support plans, ensuring every young person’s needs are met.
Safeguarding and Inclusion: Maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment in line with safeguarding policies.
On-the-Go Support: Travelling between service users across the Kent area to provide hands-on, personalised care and guidance.
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who is:
Qualified or Willing to Learn: NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Social Care (or equivalent), or ready to complete this qualification within a specified timeframe.
Experienced in Care: Previous experience working in a care or support role, especially with young people.
Knowledgeable: Familiar with The Children’s Act and Children’s Social Care systems (advantageous but not essential).
Skillful and Organised: Excellent communication, relationship-building, and time-management skills.
Mobile and Flexible: A valid UK driver’s license and access to your own vehicle or motorbike are essential as you’ll be commuting to different locations across Kent.
