Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Upminster, Essex
Salary: £85 – £95 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

SEN Specialist School is a state-maintained, foundation special school located in Upminster, Essex. We are dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for up to 155 children and young people aged 4 to 19, each with unique Education, Health and Care Plans. Our students have a range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, Autism, medical syndromes, and physical and sensory challenges.

The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Upminster. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping our students achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide tailored support, ensuring that each student’s individual needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist students with their individual learning plans and daily activities.
  • Work closely with teachers in Upminster to implement educational strategies and interventions.
  • Provide personal care and assist with medical needs as required.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with other SEN Teaching Assistants and professionals to develop and enhance the school’s SEN provision.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs, including Autism, communication difficulties, and physical and sensory challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or a related field are advantageous.
