About the vacancy:

In this role you will ensure the clean, safe, and tidy appearance of our estates, respective areas, and their environment. This includes A commitment to provide a strong community focus to improve the lives of our customers/residents. Specifically, you will:

  • Communicate effectively with residents, internal trade teams and external contractors to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Carry out ground’s maintenance works, vegetation removal, hedge and grass cutting and the treatment of weeds, moss, and invasive species. Using appropriate equipment e., hand tools, power machinery and vehicles with relevant training.
  • Removal of weeds and overgrowth from NCH land including communal areas, footpaths, lanes, and open areas as agreed.
  • To conduct daily safety checks of the allocated works vehicle and record the findings in the appropriate manner.
  • Assisting with tidying of gardens of void and tenanted properties when requested.
  • General clearance of litter and fly tipping on NCH land including shrub beds, small, landscaped areas and garage/car parking areas and removal of sharps and drug paraphernalia.
  • When required, clearing of blocked bin chutes, topping of communal bins, cleaning of communal areas, including bin areas, staircases and landings of flats and maisonette blocks.

  • Contribute to combating anti-social behaviour by witnessing and reporting incidents to appropriate colleagues including NCH Management, Community Safety Wardens, and Police where appropriate.
  • Working to Estates standards to provide a clean and safe environment and reporting issues relating to quality etc. on N C H properties and land in areas such as Grounds Maintenance, Refuse and Cleaning Services, trip hazards etc.
  • Responsibility for maintaining adequate stock of materials and its safe
  • To ensure that the equipment owned by NCH is appropriately used, stored securely and report defective equipment to supervisor.
  • To be able to prioritise workload and maintain accurate records for monitoring
  • During winter months ensure NCH grit bins are replenished and to clear snow off main footpaths or walkways and spread grit as per the NCH gritting policy.
  • Assist in maintaining a risk-based inspection regime for all NCH areas to satisfy NCH obligations in relation to public health & safety and to minimise potential liability claims.
  • To observe all regulations related to Health & Safety at Work such as COSHH, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, and the Organisation’s Health & Safety Policy.
