ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT – Newry

SALARY: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

EMPLOYMENT: Permanent, full-time, office-based

Reed Accountancy is partnered with a growing and established employer in Newry in the appointment of an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will support a range of accounting tasks, and this position is ideal for individuals with at least 2 years of experience in an industry setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing customer and supplier invoices
  • Maintaining accurate customer and supplier records
  • Reconciling statements and resolving queries
  • Processing supplier payments
  • Administering purchase orders
  • Reconciling company credit cards and posting related transactions
  • Posting petty cash transactions
  • Managing inter-company account recharges
  • Assisting in process improvements and software utilization
  • Performing ad-hoc duties as required
  • Participating in annual external audits
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy accounts department
  • Team collaboration experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines

Desirable Criteria:

  • Accounting Technician qualification (AAT or equivalent)
