Streamline Search are currently working with a respected chartered accountancy firm based in Lancashire, committed to delivering exceptional financial services to a diverse range of clients.

They are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Bookkeeper/Payroll Assistant to join their team of 2 due to expansion plans. The role can be described as an 80/20 split between bookkeeping and payroll.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial records: Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable: Manage invoices, payments, and client accounts.
  • Reconcile accounts: Ensure that bank and financial statements align with company records.
  • Payroll administration: Manage payroll systems, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • VAT returns and submissions: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports: Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial documents.
  • Liaise with clients: Provide financial advice, answer queries, and support client bookkeeping needs.

Position Requirements

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with VAT returns and payroll administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
