Equal Education Partners is excited to announce an opening for a Student Support Associate at one of our partner clients. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and providing individualized support to students in a variety of educational settings.
As a Student Support Associate, you will play a key role in our client’s new pastoral care programme, ensuring every student’s educational experience is supportive and nurturing. Working within a dynamic team under the guidance of the assistant head of teaching and learning for inclusion and SEND, the SSA will operationalise a vision where every student feels supported both academically and personally. They will contribute to developing and maintaining a framework that promotes student well-being, open communication, and academic progression.
This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to implement effective support strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement frameworks that support student well-being and academic achievement
- Collaborate with the assistant head of teaching and learning to ensure the pastoral care program aligns with educational goals
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support programs to ensure they meet student needs and organisational objectives
- Facilitate drop-in sessions for students to discuss their concerns and achievements in a supportive environment
- Organise and lead progress meetings to provide students with personalised feedback and guidance
- Engage actively with students to build trust and foster a sense of community within our client’s online platform
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience working with students or in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching young people.
- Ability to adapt to the needs of diverse students.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field, are a plus.
- Enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one.

The package:
- £21,472 – £26,003pa
- 35 hours per week (08.30 – 16.30)
- 33 days annual leave, inc 8 bank holidays
