Kitchen Assistant

Normal working hours will be 5 out of 7 day working pattern

Monday Sunday 37.5 hours per week Term Time Only + 5 weeks

Set shifts of 7.5 hours – 12.00pm 20:00pm(30 minutes unpaid break)

Downe House is a leading secondary independent boarding school for girls.We operate an in-house fully catered service for pupils and staff which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.In addition, there are numerous catered events and formal dinners.

The role of the Kitchen assistant is to support the production of meals alongside the Chefs for lunch and dinner service, plus other catered events.To assist with the day to day running of the kitchen with food preparation for the salad/deli bar and packed lunches with responsibility for food hygiene and allergen information.

Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role involving food preparation and presentation. Have experience of Hygiene and Food Safety Regulations along with Health and Safety however full training will be given.

Experience of working in a contract catering or hospitality is desirable.
