Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit a Receptionist/Administrator on a part-time, permanent basis, at our Fusee House premises in New Milton. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £22,071 -£22,429 per annum per annum.
We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
About the Role:
As our Receptionist/Administrator, you will provide efficient and effective customer service and clerical support for the New Milton Area Adult Learning and Skills programme.
Responsibilities as our Receptionist/Administrator will include:
- Deal with telephone, personal and postal enquiries effectively, including direct action or appropriate referrals, replying to requests for course information, both by post and over the counter
- Provide high quality customer service to assist students staff and visitors, whether by telephone or in person
- Ensure that the Reception and office areas are well stocked with information and kept up to date and tidy.
- Provide clerical support for the Centre, including special projects, liaising with and assisting staff, tutors, students, volunteers, outside organisations etc…
- Assist with the preparation of notices, posters etc. and the setting up of displays
- Assist with the maintenance of students, staff and financial records, including collection and preparation of data for statistical purposes
- Assist with the ordering of stationery, refreshment supplies, materials and other equipment, ensuring that adequate stocks are held
- Undertake general office duties, to include filing, distribution of incoming and preparation of outgoing mail
- Carry out enrolment procedures, including cashier duties
- Assist with the Centre inventory of equipment and associated records where equipment is taken off site
- Assist with the processing of contracts, registers and quality assurance documents
- Assist with the processing, checking and recording of staff salary and travel claims
- Attend and assist at training events and staff meetings, as required
- Any other such duties, commensurate with the grade of post, which may be reasonably allocated
As our Receptionist/Administrator, you’llideally have:
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- A minimum of two years experience in an office environment, dealing with the general public
- Experience of assisting with a range of different people with diverse needs
- Competent computer skills – able to use Word, Excel, Presentation, Outlook and the Internet for information retrieval
- Able to demonstrate customer care skills
- Telephone and Reception skills
- Confident about dealing with challenging people and situations in an appropriate way
- Demonstrate the ability to ‘think on your feet’ and show initiative
- Excellent interpersonal skills
