A hostel and resettlement support service for single homeless people. Based in Waltham Forest, London.
AN INTRODUCTION
We provide accommodation for up to 18 months for single, homeless people aged 18 to 65 years in our 27-bed purpose-built hostel in Walthamstow, London E17. We also have a new move-on property within the borough, to accommodate 6 people who are ready to move on but not yet ready to live independently.
We support, encourage and facilitate changes that people want to make in their lives through innovative support solutions to address the issue of homelessness effectively.
WHO WE HELP
We support adults referred to us through housing associations and agencies. We do not accept self referrals. Many who use our services have complex and varying support needs. Their needs may include mental health, alcohol and/or drug addiction, social isolation, poor literacy, low work skills, and loss of family and social relationships. We follow a person-centered, holistic approach in our support work. This is a partnership between residents and staff, supporting individuals in their steps towards achieving their goals.
WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
We provide life-skills, education, and training courses in-house, and through our extensive partnerships externally. Service users can spend time volunteering with local branches of national charities.
We are also proud to have our own in-house CBT therapist to help to break the cycle of homelessness for our residents, and help them move on to the next stage of their lives with confidence.
