About the role: We are looking for a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a dynamic and inclusive primary school in Islington, London. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to support children who require additional assistance through targeted interventions and booster sessions, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a Key Stage 2 TA, you will be playing a crucial role in supporting children within a classroom setting as well as offering one-to-one and small group interventions for pupils who need additional help to catch up. You will work closely with the class teacher to tailor learning strategies, ensuring that each child can thrive, regardless of their starting point. You will also be supporting children with SEN, helping them to engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Application Requirements:

• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.

• Previous experience as a TA, ideally within Key Stage 2 or primary education.

• Experience working with children with SEN and knowledge of effective intervention strategies is highly desirable.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with different learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing targeted interventions and booster sessions in core subjects such as English and Maths.

• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons.

• Working one-to-one or in small groups with children who need additional learning support, particularly those with SEN.

• Supporting the emotional, social, and behavioural development of pupils.

• Encouraging independent learning and helping to build children’s confidence in their abilities.
