We are currently seeking a Facilities Assistant, to be based at Belford Hospital & available to be mobile to work at local NHS sites in Lochaber.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, Food, Fluid and Nutritional Care Standards and Waste Regulations.
Catering, domestic and laundry service duties are included within this role to help and support service demand.
Meeting specified cleaning schedules, and promoting and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the environment.
The successful applicant will be required to cover, when required, all NHS Sites in the local geographical area, a fleet vehicle is available for travelling to sites, and access to economical public transport is also acceptable.
This post can be worked on a 2 week roster, working one weekend in two and the working hours can be flexible working hours to cover the needs of the service within our sites.

Rates of pay from £12.78 an hour with an attractive weekend working rate.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
