About the role – Behaviour mentor – Croydon
A Behaviour Mentor will have the opportunity to work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Severe Mental Health needs. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will demonstrate how to be a positive role model for students to follow. This is such a rewarding job. In order to succeed in this position, an individual must be enthusiastic, passionate, and have a desire to support children with their specific needs. Behaviour Mentors should be empathic and supportive in order to ensure the success of any program. Experience working with children with special needs, including SEN, ASD, and/or SEMH, is a desirable skill. When dealing with challenging behaviour situations with children, you will have to work at a fast pace. Your role as a behaviour mentor will involve both being based in the classroom and working outside of it. In addition to supporting a student’s academic studies, you will assist them with their personal needs as well. This can be done through interventions.
