In September 2008 we joined the Harris Federation, a not-for-profit charity with 25 years of experience in education. In joining the Harris Federation, we have become part of a family of more than forty happy and highly successful primary, secondary and sixth form providers in schools across London. Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Being the first point of contact in respect of administering first aid for students and staff, and the named responsible officer for all first aid matters
  • Managing the register of suitably qualified first aiders within the Academy and ensuring there are sufficient qualified staff
  • Administration of student medication
  • Delivering specific medical related needs of students as defined within their individual Statements of Additional Needs
  • Administering the programme, and assist where necessary, of student medical examinations, assessments and inoculations
  • Advising and training Academy staff (in conjunction with the Health Authority) in specific procedures which they may be expected to carry out in the absence of a trained nurse
  • Promoting health education in partnership with the teaching/support staff and the Health Authority
  • Ensuring the highest possible standards of clinical procedures
  • Liaising with parents and medical personnel to ensure that the health needs of students are satisfied
  • Ensuring suitable and sufficient stocks of first aid consumables and equipment
  • Working within current Child Protection Procedures and liaising with the campus nominated Child Protection Officer
  • Ensuring confidentiality of all medical information
  • Ensuring up-to-date clinical and professional practice is maintained

Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience of delivering a high-quality service
  • Experience of a range of general administrative duties
  • Good ICT skills and experience, including Word, Excel, and management information systems
  • Experience working with children of relevant age (11-19)
  • A good standard of general education, including literacy and numeracy skills
