About the role:
Join our dedicated team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of autistic students at our specialist school in Hillingdon. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting children aged 5-11 with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment. Previous experience in special education is essential, as you will work with a range of needs, including behaviour management and ADHD, to ensure each child thrives. This full-time, long-term role offers daily rates of £85-£100 and starts in January 2025. Application Requirements:
• Experiencing working with students with Autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties (preferably in a school setting).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
• A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach.
• The ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
• A passion for helping children with SEN succeed in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver tailored support for children aged 5-11 with Autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties, helping them achieve their maximum potential.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment to support each child’s journey towards a happy and independent life.
• Implement individualised learning plans and track progress.
• Provide behavioural support and manage challenging behaviours in a calm, effective manner.
• Adapt teaching strategies to suit different learning styles and needs, including ADHD and other additional needs.
