The role: This is a hands-on role designed to tackle a critical bottleneck in our clients recruitment and onboarding process. As a HR Administrator, you’ll take ownership of the compliance, screening, and referencing stage of onboarding for high-volume hires. You’ll working closely with the wider recruitment and HR teams. You will also have frequent contact with external agency partners.
This role will use Workday and Sterling referencing on a daily basis.
You’ll report to: Resourcing Manager
Location: Within a commutable distance of Nottingham as 2/3 days in office a week.
Salary Range: circa £28,000
Role Type: Fixed-term contract, 6 months

The Role
As the HR Administrator – Onboarding, you’ll be the cornerstone of our clients onboarding process, ensuring no detail slips through the cracks. Your mission? To bring order and clarity, ensuring new hires are ready to hit the ground running in a highly regulated environment.
You’ll leverage tools like Workday and Sterling, ensuring compliance documentation, background checks, and referencing are completed efficiently. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in process-driven environments, enjoys working with data, and has a passion for maintaining high standards in onboarding.
What you’ll be doing
* Overseeing compliance checks, referencing, and screening for all new starters.
* Acting as the go-to for compliance queries and issues, ensuring alignment with industry regulations.
* Supporting hiring managers with updates and guidance during the onboarding phase.
* Collaborating with recruitment and HR teams to identify and resolve process gaps.
* Contacting external recruitment agencies to ensure candidates are managed and supported through the onboarding process.
* Producing regular reports to track progress, highlight risks, and recommend improvements.
The skills and experience you’ll need
Your background
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in recruitment or HR processes, particularly in regulated or high-volume environments. You’ll need to be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities without missing a beat.
Ideal Experience
* Strong experience with compliance, referencing, and onboarding processes.
* Familiarity with Workday and Sterling (or similar HRM and screening tools).
* A background in financial services or other regulated industries.
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
* A keen eye for detail and an ability to work accurately under pressure.
* Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders and keep processes on track.
