Information about the Role:
Working as a Senior Support Worker at Southern Hill Hospital your duties will include the following:
· Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
· Providing emotional support for an individual and at times their families.
· Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health and safety of service users at all times.
· Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
· Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
· Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
· Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
· If applicable, assist in the administration of medication.

Southern Hill Hospital is a provider of specialised care for adults experiencing severe mental distress. With 53 mental health beds across five wards, we offer a safe and secure environment for individuals requiring acute psychiatric support. Our commitment to delivering 24-hour medical care ensures that every patient receives timely and effective treatment on their journey towards recovery.
At Southern Hill Hospital, we provide treatment to men and women aged 18 and above who are dealing with significant mental health challenges. Often, these individuals cannot receive the necessary care within a community setting due to the severity of their conditions. Whether admitted under the Mental Health Act or voluntarily, our acute inpatient services are designed to support working-age adults through a seamless and continuous care process. Our primary goal is to stabilise, treat, and effectively discharge our patients, enabling them to transition back into their daily lives with improved mental health.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications:
· Someone who has a real passion for caring and helping people.
· 6-months experience of working as a Senior Support Worker.
· We can also consider experienced Support Workers, Healthcare Assistants, Deputy Care Managers for this position.
· NVQ/QCF Level 3
· Ability to work on shift/rota pattern.
· Have the right to the work in the UK
