About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our team starting in January 2025. This is a full-time, long-term role, where you will be an essential part of the learning experience for students requiring additional support across Key Stages 1 and 2. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to support students with ASD, ensuring that they feel safe, supported, and included in all aspects of school life.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is essential.
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable.
• Strong understanding of ASD strategies and behaviour management techniques.
• Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards SEN students.
• Good communication skills to work effectively with teachers, SENCO, and parents.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment and inspiring student confidence and success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored support to students with ASD, both one-on-one and in group settings.
• Collaborate with the SENCO and class teachers to develop individual learning plans.
• Use specialised strategies to manage challenging behavior and promote social interaction.
• Support students’ academic progress, emotional well-being, and independence.
• Create a positive and structured learning environment, adapting resources as necessary.
• Encourage students to participate fully in school life and celebrate their achievements.
