Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Walsall, to provide one-on-one support for a Year 5 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing, caring nature, with a commitment to helping children achieve their full potential.Key Responsibilities: · Provide tailored support to a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs. · Assist with both academic and emotional support throughout the school day. · Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning strategies. · Create a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment. · Encourage social skills and positive behaviour both inside and outside the classroom. · Support the pupil in developing self-regulation and confidence in their learning. Ideal Candidate: · Experience working with children, preferably those with SEMH or additional needs. · A nurturing and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport quickly. · Excellent communication and teamwork skills. · A positive and proactive attitude toward supporting student development. · Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training) are desirable but not essential. · A commitment to supporting the welfare and safeguarding of children. SEN Teaching Assistant Contract/Position Details Location -Birmingham · Position – SEMH Teaching Assistant · Type of work – 1:1 SEN Support – Year 5 · Start date – ASAP · Likely Duration – Ongoing long-term · Position end date – July 2024 · Contract type – Temporary · Full-time/Part-time – Part-time · Minimum rate of pay – GBP85 · Hours – 8:30 – 3:30(term time only) Supply TA Experience, Training, and Qualifications · It is essential that you have SEN Teaching assistant experience, along with a relevant qualification Level 2 or Level 3 Qualification in Childcare/TA · Up-to-date Safeguarding training is imperative; you can undertake a free course with Prospero Teaching if you have not completed a Safeguarding course in the last 12 months.
