Finance Assistant & Payroll Lead (Xero Expert)

We’re seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Finance Assistant and Payroll Lead to join our team. As a Xero expert, you’ll support our finance function with tasks such as financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close processes. You’ll have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:?Process invoices, payments, payroll, and receipts with accuracy and efficiency.

  • General Ledger Maintenance:?Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintainaccurate financial records.

  • Bank Reconciliation:?Regularly reconcile bank accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.

  • Financial Reporting:Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Month-End Closing:?Support month-end and year-end processes, including accruals and prepayments.

  • VAT Returns:?Prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

  • Expense Reporting:?Process employee expense claims in line with company policies.

  • Fixed Asset Management:Maintain the fixed asset register, tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.

  • Audits:Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing queries.

  • Inbox Management:?Collaboratively manage the finance team inbox, ensuring timely responses and efficient communication.

Key Requirements:

  • Education:?Minimum AAT Level 3 qualification.

  • Experience:?1-3 years in an accounting or finance role, with experience managing a portfolio of clients, and company wide

  • Skills:?Strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in Xero, Sage, and Excel, excellent attention to detail, and strong organisational habits.
