Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the classroom
Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored educational activities
Providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help for students with physical disabilities
Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Collaborating with other staff members and ensure engagement of non-verbal students

Required Qualifications:

Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
Enhanced DBS check
Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Previous experience working with students with SEND ( Personal experience)
Experience in a classroom setting

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of different learning needs and how to support them
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Patience and empathy towards students with SEND

Preferred Qualifications:

First Aid certification
Training in behaviour management techniques
Health and Social Care
Cache level 3
Manual handling

Working Conditions:

Work in a school setting
Full-time hours
Working in reduced classes ( 6 – 8 students )

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
