Psychology Graduate – SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Coventry

Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30pm)

Weekly Salary: £425 to £450

Contract: Temporary (Opportunities to go permanent)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school in Coventry. This role offers the opportunity to support young pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to engage in learning and achieve their potential.

Some pupils may require assistance with personal care, so applicants must be willing to support with this aspect of the role.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a motivated and empathetic individual with a strong understanding of Psychology and Special Educational Needs. Whether you are a recent graduate or have experience in SEN settings, this role will allow you to apply your knowledge in a meaningful and impactful way.

Key Requirements:

A degree in Psychology or a related field (or relevant experience)
Passion for supporting children with SEN and making a difference in their education
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families
Patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Responsibilities:

Supporting teachers in delivering lessons tailored to SEN pupils
Working with small groups and providing 1:1 support
Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff
Encouraging positive behaviours and supporting social development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
