About the Role
As an Apprentice Finance Assistant, you will support the finance team in carrying out essential accounting tasks while studying towards your AAT qualification. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional environment, allowing you to develop valuable skills and knowledge that will set the foundation for a successful career in finance.
Apprentice Finance Assistant Responsibilities
* Assisting with the preparation of sales invoices and processing purchase invoices
* Supporting bank reconciliation and financial transaction processing
* Assisting with debt collection and maintaining accurate financial records
* Handling supplier queries and reconciling supplier statements
* Inputting data into financial systems and ensuring records are up to date
* Supporting the finance team with administrative tasks and ad-hoc projects
* Learning and applying financial regulations and accounting principles
Apprentice Finance Assistant Requirements
Essential:
* A strong interest in finance and accounting
* Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
* IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
Desirable:
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
* Some prior exposure to an office or finance environment
