We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Finance Assistant, specialising in Purchase Ledger, to join our busy and passionate Finance team. This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys processing high volumes of invoices, can confidently complete statement reconciliations, to ensure invoices are paid within payment terms and can deal efficiently with ad-hoc supplier queries.

In addition, as Beaverbrooks Senior Finance Assistant, you will also play an exciting role in developing, testing and supporting with the rollout of new invoice processing solutions to aid with efficient and timely payment practices.


Main Responsibilities

  • Accurately coding and processing high volume of invoices (approx. 1000 per week).
  • Liaising with stores and office departments to ensure invoices are authorised.
  • Reviewing VAT invoices which have been paid on a pro-forma basis.
  • Filing processed invoices.
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolution of issues.
  • Assisting in reviewing Finance emails and carrying out actions as necessary to clear the inbox.
  • Main point of contact for Purchase Ledger queries.
  • Being proactive and instrumental in developing and testing new invoice processing solutions to ensure efficient receipt, review, approval and payment of business expenditure.
  • Supporting the development of training documentation.
  • General ad hoc duties to support the Finance department.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Ability to demonstrate the values and behaviours of the Beaverbrooks Way -The Beaverbrooks Way
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and meet objectives, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using Excel.
  • Previous experience of processing high volumes of invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Experience of performing statement reconciliations and independently resolving queries.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work as a supportive part of a small team with a flexible and personable approach.
  • Ability to build good working relationships through communication (both written and verbal) and the confidence to reach out to colleagues and suppliers to resolve issues.


DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Previous experience of advanced Excel skills, including use of vlookups, pivot tables and data manipulation practices.
  • Previous involvement with integration of new business wide processes to improve performance.
