HR Assistant Job Overview

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an HR Assistant to support its busy HR and Payroll function based in South Wales (commutable from Cardiff, Newport, and surrounding areas). This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for HR administration and employee relations to develop within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the HR Manager, Training Manager, and Payroll team
Monitor and report on employee absence
Support the onboarding process for new starters
Ensure payroll changes and amendments are accurately processed
Track probationary periods and issue relevant documentation
Add new starters to the HR system (HRIS)
Draft offer letters, contracts, and general HR correspondence
Minute meetings including disciplinaries, grievances, and welfare reviews
Co-ordinate HR meetings and manage diaries
Maintain and update employee records

HR Assistant Job Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong IT skills
High attention to detail
Collaborative team player
Experience in a HR Assistant or similar role would be beneficial
CIPD Level 3 or working towards is desirable but not essential

HR Assistant Salary & Benefits

£24,500 per annum
Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (flexibility required for occasional early starts/late finishes)
33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
