Front of House Manager

Friends Place, Calcot, Reading

£28,875 + benefits

Permanent – Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Monday to Friday (may include some evenings and weekends)

Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 100 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

We are searching for a Front of House Manager to work alongside the management team to ensure the smooth opening of our new home, Friends Place, in Calcot, Reading. Our state-of-the-art care home will feature:

Are you an experienced administrator looking for the next exciting step in your career? Are you comfortable working in fast-paced environment with a wide range of responsibilities and enquiries? Do you want to go home feeling like you are making a real difference to older people’s lives?

You will be joining as key member of our dedicated management team – acting as a first point of contact for all enquiries and visitors to the Home and implementing initiatives to generate customer enquiries in order to maximise revenue. In this varied role, you will undertake a variety of general administration tasks such as involvement with invoicing, ordering supplies and booking training.

Supporting the wider team, you will plan events within the care home to engage the local community and support the activities team with administrative-based activities for the residents. You will actively manage and support the move in and out of residents and ensure that all available bedrooms are to “showroom standard” at all times. One thing is for sure, no two days will be the same!

Our ideal candidate will…

Have a good standard of general education and will hold a minimum of GCSE Maths and English.

*

Be experienced in providing efficient administrative support in a timely and confidential manner.

*

Be comfortable working to financial and HR policies and procedures.

*

Be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software, including Outlook, Word and Excel in addition to staffing and financial systems.

*

Hold either AAT or NVQ Level 2 in Administration (desirable).

*

Have experience in successfully promoting services for residential/nursing homes for older people or within a charity (desirable).

*

Be knowledgeable on the principles in sales and marketing

A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be organised, accurate and thorough in your work, taking pride in setting high standards. A positive person with a friendly manner, you will be comfortable working to deadlines to ensure the smooth running of the Home.
