Exciting Opportunity: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant in Southampton, Hampshire!

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team at a welcoming secondary school in Southampton. This full-time role offers a competitive annual salary of £18,500 to £21,000, depending on experience, with the opportunity for career progression and a permanent contract after a successful probation period. Start date is immediate or from September 2025.
About the Role
Step into a rewarding position where your support helps students with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and Speech and Language Difficulties thrive. You’ll be working in the school’s resource base, supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), your responsibilities will include:
Student Support: Provide tailored assistance to students in the resource base.
Classroom Assistance: Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom activities.
Individual Guidance: Offer one-on-one support to help students overcome learning challenges.
Flexibility: Adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
Training: Access to training provided by GSL Education to equip you with essential SEN support skills.
What We’re Looking in SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or a strong understanding of SEN procedures is desirable.
Transferable Skills: We welcome applicants from the care sector with experience supporting children with SEN or physical disabilities.
Attention to Detail: Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Reliability: A dependable and punctual individual who can work independently.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in education are a plus.
