About the teaching assistant role

You’ll be supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and pastoral team, you will deliver tailored support to ensure every student can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Providing 1:1 and small group support in class and during interventions
• Assisting with the development of learning materials to meet individual needs
• Monitoring student progress and reporting to teaching staff and SENCO
• Promoting confidence, independence, and a love of learning

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based preferred)
• A patient, adaptable, and proactive mindset
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Passion for education and inclusion
