Key responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant
• Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs
• Assist the class teacher in creating a nurturing and structured learning environment
• Help develop and adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs
• Track and monitor progress, offering feedback and support to help students achieve their goals
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or educational setting
• Patient, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting students with varying needs
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
• A team player who is committed to safeguarding and inclusive education
