Forge General Operative – £13.00/hr
Location: Cradley Heath, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:45am – 4:45pm
Friday, 7:45am – 3:45pm
Lunch: 1:00pm – 1:30pm (unpaid)
Pay Type: Weekly
Overtime: May be required (mornings/weekends) at the agreed hourly rate
We are looking for a Forge General Operative to join our Clients manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role in a busy production environment, ideally suited to someone with previous experience in forging or similar heavy industrial work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within a forge and hot forged presswork environment
- When forge work is not required, assist with:
- Cropping, sawing, grinding, linishing
- Packing, shot blasting, CNC operation
- Threading, drilling, robot welding
- General machine shop duties
Requirements:
- Experience in a forge or similar industrial setting
- Physically fit and comfortable in a hot working environment
- Accurate measuring skills and basic computer literacy
- Flexible and open to learning new skills
- Able to work unsupervised once trained
Training & Development:
Comprehensive training will be provided from the start. You’ll be expected to work independently once competence has been demonstrated.
