Job Title: Scheme Manager Extra Care
Location: Gore Grange, New Milton
Salary: £27,635.03
Working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm, with additional hours as necessary
Reports to: Registered Care Manager

At SCA (Social Care in Action), we put people at the heart of everything we do. Were seeking a dedicated and dynamic Scheme Manager Extra Care to oversee the daily operations of our Extra Care service and lead a committed team of Care Workers.

About the Role
Youll play a vital role in the day-to-day management of our Extra Care housing scheme, ensuring our customers receive compassionate, personalised care and support to maintain their independence and dignity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing care delivery, support plans, and wellbeing checks
- Leading and supporting a team of Care Workers, including training, supervision, and appraisals
- Overseeing the electronic care management system, care records, and safeguarding processes
- Ensuring staffing levels meet customer needs 24/7 without reliance on agency staff
- Collaborating with housing providers, families, health professionals, and social workers
- Promoting resident engagement through activities and community links
- Maintaining compliance with regulatory and health & safety standards
What Were Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, compassionate, and highly organised with a strong background in care management.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within health or social care
- NVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or equivalent), or relevant experience
- Strong understanding of personalised care planning, safeguarding, and support delivery
- Ability to use care management software and maintain accurate records
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Commitment to dignity, respect, and independence in care
Desirable:
- Experience in Extra Care or supported housing environments
- Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Data Protection
- Proven ability to manage rotas, supervise staff, and conduct performance reviews
