Start Date: September 2025 (Trial to take place during Summer Term 2025)
Job Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Contract: Temporary to permanent for the right candidate
Salary: Starting daily rate of £89.38

About the Role

We are looking for a fluent Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join our Foundation Phase team and work in our partnering school’s Reception class, starting in September 2025. The successful candidate will be invited to attend a trial session during the current summer term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to support our youngest learners as they begin their educational journey through the medium of Welsh.

Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons through Welsh
Assist in creating a welcoming, nurturing classroom environment
Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups to support early development and learning
Encourage positive relationships, independence, and communication
Help deliver learning through play in line with the Foundation Phase ethos
Support with classroom routines, supervision, and resource preparation

Essential Requirements

✅ Fluent Welsh speaker (spoken and written)
✅ Experience working with Foundation Phase/Early Years children
✅ A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

Experience in Welsh-medium schools or settings
Understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and Foundation Phase principles
First Aid or safeguarding training
