SEND Teaching Assistant required in Worcester

September 2025

TeacherActive work closely with a well-respected, mainstream Secondary School in Worcester, who are looking for a Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with Autism, to join them after them in September 2025. The school are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who can support on a 1-1 basis for at least the first term of the academic year. There is a potential for this to be extended.

The role will be full time. 3 days will be working with KS3 and 4, and 2 days will be working with KS5. The successful application must be comfortable supporting all ages groups.

The role will include:

Offering students additional support on a 1-1 basis
Supporting small groups of students
Supporting with diverse learning needs
Experience support secondary aged students who have Autism
Providing guidance and encouragement
Providing individualised and flexible support
Understanding and implementing behavioural management strategies
Helping create and maintain and positive working environment
Liaising with the class teacher and SENDCo, SLT, parent’s or carers when appropriate
Monitoring student’s progress
Roles requirements:

At least 12 months experience supporting children who have Autism
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with students and staff
Flexibility
A calm nature and someone who can think quickly on their feet
Patience and understanding
Excellent communication skills
Excellent behavioural management skills
Availability to work 8:30-3:30 term time
