Accounts Assistant

Reed Accountancy are working with an established organisation located in Musselburgh, East Lothian, seeking a temporary Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team through to February 2025. This office-based role will allow the successful candidate to leverage their skills through performing various transactional finance duties.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Handling purchase ledger activities including processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing payments.
  • Managing the sales ledger, issuing invoices, and ensuring timely payment of debts.
  • Assisting with month-end accounting procedures and reporting.
  • Bank reconciliations and month end reconciliations.
  • Providing timely responses to all enquiries related to accounts payable.
  • Liaising with suppliers, resolving any issues, and maintaining strong working relationships.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing a supplier ledger and handling accounts payable responsibilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
