Company details and job overview:

Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a business that is based in the St Helens area. This company has been operating for over 25 years and the main reasons for the company’s success and rapid expansion is due to reliability and a reputation for excellent levels of service. They are now recruiting for an Accounts & Payroll Clerk on a full-time and permanent basis. You will work 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday. There is the option to work on a hybrid basis once training as been completed.

Your new role as the Accounts & Payroll Clerk:

• Purchase Ledger – Inputting invoices/credit notes on the appropriate ledgers, to the relevant nominals. Allocating supplier payments.
• Payments: Processing payments, authorising payments, and preparing BACS payments
• Reconciliation: Reconciling supplier statements to the purchase ledger and bank reconciliations
• Reporting: Creating company reports
• Queries: Investigating purchase ledger queries and assisting with queries
• Liaison: Liaising with suppliers
• Expenses: Processing personal and company expenses
• VAT: Working out VAT payments, supported by external accountants
• Processing Weekly Wages using Sage 50 Payroll for approx. 45 employees
• Enquiries: Dealing with purchase enquiries

Experience & Skills required to apply:

• Experience of ‘Sage 50’ accounting software would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
• Experience of processing payroll is essential.
• Experience of processing on Sage 50 Payroll is preferred, but training could be given if the candidate has a thorough understanding of payroll.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary on offer is up to £29,000
• 33 days annual leave (includes bank holidays)
• 4% pension contribution
• Two bonuses (between £1000 and £3,000 in total)
