About Us:
DP Builders is a well-established company based in Cheshunt that has been operating at a high level for over two decades, specializing in disabled adaptations for council contracts. We are a dynamic and growing business with a medium-sized workforce, managed by a small but dedicated administrative team. Our work focuses on providing essential adaptations for elderly and disabled clients, meaning understanding and empathy are crucial in this role. We are now looking for an experienced Administrator to join our team and play a key role in taking ownership of and improving our processes.
The Role:
As an Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, managing communications with clients and their families, and helping to transition our administrative processes from paper-based to more efficient cloud-based systems. A key part of this role will involve managing expectations in a kind and courteous manner with both the councils we work with and our elderly and disabled customers. This role requires someone with previous experience in a similar administrative role who can confidently take ownership, implement improvements, and support the team in maintaining efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative support to the team, ensuring efficient workflow.
* Communicate effectively with customers, clients, and internal teams, with an empathetic and understanding approach.
* Manage expectations in a kind and courteous manner with both council clients and our elderly and disabled customers.
* Manage and maintain records, spreadsheets, and databases using Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
* Assist in transitioning from a paper-based system to a cloud-based solution.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
* Handle emails, phone calls, and scheduling tasks with professionalism and accuracy.
* Support the team in tracking ongoing projects and meeting deadlines.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in a similar administrative role is essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
* Excellent communication skills – confident in dealing with customers, clients, and their families in a compassionate and professional manner.
* Understanding and empathy are essential when supporting elderly and disabled clients or their families.
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset – someone who can take initiative.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
* Experience in workflow improvements and cloud-based systems is a plus.
