We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual with experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer who is looking to transition into a Junior Fire Damper Engineer role. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical and technical skills in a growing field, with hands-on training and support to develop your expertise in fire damper systems. Covering the South of England, you’ll work closely with our senior fire safety team, gaining practical experience and progressing towards a specialized career in fire damper inspection, installation, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the inspection, testing, installation, and maintenance of fire dampers in various commercial and industrial settings.
* Conduct fire damper surveys and perform remedial works under the guidance of senior engineers.
* Support in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to fire dampers and related fire safety systems.
* Record and report findings, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to industry standards and company protocols.
* Work collaboratively with team members to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and safety standards while on-site.
* Travel to various sites across the South of England, often working independently.
Training and Development:
* Gain in-depth knowledge of fire damper types, components, and installation processes.
* Undergo specialized training on fire safety regulations, damper testing, and certification.
* Opportunity to obtain certifications relevant to fire damper engineering, such as Fire Marshal and relevant NVQ qualifications.

Requirements:
* Previous experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer, with a solid understanding of HVAC systems.
* Basic knowledge of ventilation and air handling units.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to following safety protocols.
* Must have a full UK driving license and be open to traveling across the South of England.
* Willingness to learn and develop specialized skills in fire damper engineering.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and customer interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
* CSCS card or similar construction site certifications.
* Basic understanding of fire safety regulations.
* Relevant NVQ or certifications in HVAC, ventilation, or fire safety (beneficial but not essential).
