Due to upcoming retirement, a busy practice based in Central Oxford are seekinga full time Asthma Nurse.

Role Overview:
The new asthma nurse will provide evidence-based nursing care, working closely with our practice team to support patients. Youll be responsible for managing asthma, chronic diseases, minor injuries, and various health checks. You will also assist with policy reviews and support the management team.

Main Duties:

  • Lead the management of asthma care and chronic disease patients.
  • Perform health assessments, minor illness care, and regular asthma reviews.
  • Provide general nursing care (e.g., wound care, injections, cervical screening, immunizations).
  • Assist with sexual health, contraception advice, and travel vaccinations.
  • Support safeguarding, health promotion, and infection control.
  • Prescribe medication and offer advice on its use.
  • Manage emergency situations, as well as childrens and adults’ asthma diagnoses.

You will also:

  • Help with well-woman and well-man clinics.
  • Support patients with medication management and chronic conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow clinical guidelines.
  • Work closely with GPs, healthcare professionals, and external services.
