We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the heart of Hillingdon. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the academic and personal development of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a nurturing environment.
The Role:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with autism
Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored support plans
Promote communication, independence, and emotional regulation using strategies such as PECS, visual schedules, or sensory supports
Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Essential: Previous experience in a UK school setting
Essential: Proven experience working with children with autism
A calm, patient, and proactive approach
Strong understanding of autism-specific strategies and interventions
Excellent communication and team-working skills
A genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of SEN pupils
