Behaviour Mentor

Location: Brecon

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm

Pay: From £82.50

Start Date: 1st September 2025.

Duration: Full academic year.

A well-known secondary school in Brecon are looking to recruit a someone to work closely with students who need additional assistance within their school. You would be working 1:1 with a pupil who presents challenging behaviour. Within this there will be plenty of opportunity to use sport as an intervention, this could involve football, tennis, rugby and cricket to name a few.

The pupil’s ages range between 11-18.

As a behaviour mentor you will have the chance to create a meaningful and positive impact on the lives of young pupils. Your role may be involved in assisting with day-to-day activities and providing essential support to foster their confidence and growth.

In this role you will be required to:

– Help set up and organise the classroom for the lead teacher.

– Work closely with pupils who need additional help within the class.

– Partake in activities in and outside the classroom. This can include sports/ arts and crafts and day trips.

– Help with interventions to make the pupil feel at ease.

– Have a nurturing personality with a passion to help improve the pupil’s school experience.

A Behaviour Mentor should be:

– Patient

– Caring

– Have good time management skills.

– Have a passion for working with children.

– A sporting background would help but is not essential.

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
Ability to provide two recent references, showcasing your professional competence.
Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Safeguarding Level 2 (provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
