Location: Across PRU sites in Stratford, East Ham, and Plaistow
Salary: Competitive – Dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join our Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Stratford, East Ham, and Plaistow. You will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behaviours, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to provide emotional and behavioural support
Implement tailored intervention strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a safe and structured learning environment
Support students in managing their emotions, developing social skills, and improving self-regulation
Act as a role model, promoting resilience, confidence, and a growth mindset
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to student progress

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour management
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
The ability to work effectively within a team and independently
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
Previous experience in a PRU, alternative provision, or similar setting is desirable
