Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: North West England, Lancashire, Preston
Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours
Salary: £83.85 – £100 Per day
Job Description:
Job Duties:
Provide support to students with challenging behaviour within an educational setting
Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO or teaching staff
Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans
Monitor and record student behaviour and progress, reporting back to the SENCO or teaching staff
Support students in social and emotional development
Required Qualifications:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Relevant experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
Education:
Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
Experience:
Experience working in a similar role within an educational environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively support students with behaviour difficulties
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of behaviour management techniques
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher level qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related field
Training in de-escalation techniques
Working Conditions:
Work primarily within a school environment
Full-time hours with occasional requirement for extra hours or flexibility
May involve some physical activity and potential exposure to challenging behaviour
