Behavioural Specialist
Full-Time, Immediate Start
SEN – Mental Health and Complex Needs

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? If you’re looking for an opportunity to build experience in working with mental health and complex needs, this role is perfect for you.

Academics LTD is working closely with a specialist school in Reading that provides high-quality, personalized care for children aged 5 to 18 with SEN. We are seeking a Special Needs Specialist who is compassionate, positive, and ready to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating with external practitioners and psychologists
Supporting students in developing emotional regulation and social skills
Working with children with a range of needs, including Autism, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, and communication difficulties
Demonstrating a genuine interest in working with children or in SENThis role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience alongside qualified professionals, ideal for graduates or anyone considering a career in psychology, teaching, or mental health. No prior experience is required, though recognized qualifications such as a Degree or Level 3 qualification are an advantage.

Role Details:

Position: Special Needs Specialist
Location: Reading
Salary: £83 – £95 per day (depending on experience, qualifications, and client rates)
Contract: Long-term temporary, with potential for a permanent position
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 am – 3:30 pm)
Experience: Desired but not essential
