Requirements

Previous experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role is desirable.
AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent in accounting (preferred).
Strong understanding of core accounting principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both colleagues and customers in a professional manner.
Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude, with a willingness to go the extra mile.
Familiarity with Xero accounting software is a plus, but training will be available.
Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring smooth cash flow and providing weekly updates to management.
Handle the purchase ledger, including organizing payments to suppliers.
Administer the sales ledger, ensuring that invoices to customers are accurate and timely.
Manage the collection of overdue accounts and take necessary steps for credit control.
Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts and company credit cards.
Process financial entries such as prepayments and accruals.
Prepare necessary accounting journal entries.
Track and compile sales commissions accurately.
Perform reconciliation of supplier costs, including conducting profit and loss analyses.
Ensure that product pricing and cost information remains current and accurate.
Process customer payments via card and direct debit through BACS services.
Foster positive relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
Work with external accountants to ensure timely submission of statutory returns and adherence to regulatory deadlines.
Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns on a quarterly basis.
Help with the invoicing process on a monthly basis.
