Business Services Assistant – SouthamptonContract Type: Fixed Term (12 months) About the Role:Are you looking for a stepping stone into the corporate world, particularly in customer-facing or reception roles? Whether you’ve gained experience in the hospitality sector, like working in hotel reception, or you’ve just completed a business admin/customer service apprenticeship, this role could be perfect for starting or advancing your customer service career. We are currently seeking a Business Services Assistant (Reception/Admin) to join a legal 500 firm with offices in Southampton office on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to provide vital front and back-office support within a dynamic and fast-growing law firm. You’ll be contributing to the delivery of exceptional legal services while gaining valuable corporate experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting and processing incoming/outgoing mail, photocopying, and scanning.
- Preparing documents for meetings, including binding, laminating, and paginating.
- Managing stock control and processing orders for stationery and IT consumables.
- Ensuring the office appearance is maintained and conducting basic office maintenance.
- Liaising with contractors and engineers for office-related tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures.
- Assisting with the arrangement of conference facilities, including setting up audio-visual equipment.
- Covering reception duties and supporting events.
- Serving refreshments to internal and external clients during meetings.
What We’re Looking For:We are looking for someone who brings experience in customer-facing and administrative roles, ideally within a business setting. You should also possess:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, flexible attitude, with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to work on a rota system (36.25 hours per week), including start times of 08:00, 09:00, or 09:45.
- Availability to commit to a 12-month term.
