We are currently seeking to recruit a Cafe Supervisor to join our team in the Belford Hospital. This post will be based in the Hospital, promoting and merchandising our new retail offer, serving fresh baked goods, beverages to our colleagues, patients and visitor, ensuring high standards of service of a quality retail offer and to provide an exceptional customer service experience.
As a Café Supervisor, they will supervise the dining room, café and vending rooms within the Rural General Hospital that they are based, They will have the tenacity to deal with very high volumes whilst still maintaining the quality and service standards. They will have the proven capacity to manage a team, motivating them and leading by example with a can do attitude. They will ensure that our customers will receive prompt service, quality beverages and products and ensure that their team will deliver a friendly and clean atmosphere. They will have an understanding of business management including stock and cost control.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, and Waste Regulations.
They may require to cover, when needed, a hospitality role when functions are planned, out with business hours and hospitality support is required in other NHS Sites, in North West Highland.
They will meet specified cleaning schedules, and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness within the environment.
Catering duties will include preparation, presentation and merchandising of retail products which may include a range of freshly prepared seasonal retail products.
This is a full-time post, being available to provide a service during business hours on week days, available Monday to Friday. We offer a full comprehensive induction and training package.
Rates of pay from £13.02 an hour with an attractive weekend working rate.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
